Dermal Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers and how are they used?

Losing facial fullness and wrinkles are signs of aging. Today there are many types of volume enhancing products that are utilized to instantly reduce and correct visible lines and wrinkles including nasolabial lines, marionette lines, nasal deformities, chin and cheek creases, lip lines and acne scars. The injectable fillers can also be used for lip augmentation. Using the micro droplet technique of injection we can correct fine lines of the upper lip and lips and decoltage.

How is the Dermal Filler Treatment performed?

After applying anesthetic cream to the area to be treated, Dr. Stamatiou will perform multiple small injections intradermally. The area treated will have slight swelling for several days, and possibly slight bruising. Multiple treatments may be required to achieve desired results.

What is Dermal Fillers?

With a highly favorable safety profile, dermal filler is composed of non-animal sterilized hyaluronic acid (a substance found naturally in the human body) that restores volume and fullness of the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds. Hyaluronic acid is hydrophilic and absorbs 5x its weight in water and therefore "plumps up" the wrinkle or fold. Dermal filler provides optimal results with a single treatment in the majority of patients and delivers sustained result for 6 months or longer.

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse provides immediate visual improvements along with the benefit of long lasting results. With collagen generating properties Radiesse is not only an ideal filler for deep creases and folds, it also stimulates development of new tissue. Tiny, smooth Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres form a scaffold through which your body's own collagen grows. This trait of the filler removes the need for multiple injections over a span of a few weeks or months and patients maintain longer optimal results without return trips for additional injections. The result of Radiesse may last between one to two years.
