What is Skin Needling?
Skin needling also known as Collagen Induction Therapy is an effective anti-aging skin treatment. Skin needling creates the controlled dermal damage without the removal of healthy epidermis therefore the healing period is rapid. The skin does not risk permanent structural damage, sun sensitivity, skin color loss or hyperpigmentation. Excel has been using skin needling since 2006 to treat acne scarring and fine wrinkles.
How is Skin Needling performed?
After applying a topical anesthetic, using a dermal roller, multiple pinpoint puncture wounds are caused that induce the release of growth factors that stimulate new collagen and elastin production and cell growth. For a more advanced and complete therapy a combination of mesotherapy ampoules can be added to the treatment (see Mesotherapy). The result is smoother, fresher,glowing skin. These treatments can be performed year round. Needling can fade stretch marks, acne scars, sun damage and wrinkles. Best of all it is affordable and there is very little downtime or risk of side effects.
What can I expect after my treatment?
You will be able to return to normal activity after your treatment, however you will have mild redness that can be camouflaged with mineral makeup.We will perform a 3 minute makeup application of Jane Iredale Mineral Make Up. Jane Iredale Mineral Make up is not like other brands. It is free of talc, synthetic fragrances and synthetic petroleum based dyes. The foundations form a protective barrier on the skin that allow it to breathe and function normally. Laboratory tests confirm that all of the products are non-comedogenic and do not block pores. The minerals can applied immediately afar a microdermabrasion or a light peel prodded the skin has not been broken. They will not only cover the redness, but the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are known anti-inflammatories that will help to calm the inflammation. And since the Minerals provide physical sunscreen there is no need to wait for sun protection. Note: Even men feel comfortable wearing the minerals because they are undetectable!
Glowing smoother skin will be seen within 2-3 days after treatment. Because this treatment builds collagen, the results start becoming apparent 6 weeks after treatment. For optimal results, a series of 6 treatments weekly, along with customized mesotherapy ampules are recommended.
