What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is an advanced anti-aging skin treatment that triggers natural skin repair. By creating controlled micro-injuries, microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer, smoother, and more youthful-looking skin. Unlike more aggressive resurfacing treatments, microneedling does not damage the outer epidermis, allowing for a rapid recovery without the risk of permanent structural damage, sun sensitivity, or hyperpigmentation.
At Stamatiou Aesthetics, we have been using microneedling since 2006 to successfully treat acne scars, fine wrinkles, and overall skin rejuvenation.
How Microneedling Works
- Micro-injuries trigger the skin’s healing response.
- Growth factors (e.g., PDGF, FGF, EGF) are released.
- Fibroblasts produce new collagen and elastin.
- A fibronectin matrix forms, aligning collagen fibers for structure.
- Neovascularization enhances nutrient and oxygen delivery.
- Result: Improved skin tone, texture, pores, and radiance.
Types of Microneedling Treatments
All treatments are performed after a pharmaceutical compounded anesthetic cream is applied for 20 minutes to make the treatment painless.
Standard Microneedling
- A medical-grade dermapen with a personalized, sterile 12- needle-head is used to rejuvenate skin.
- Improves fine lines, wrinkles, and skin texture.
- Minimally invasive with little downtime, possibly 24-48 slight redness
- Infusion of hyaluronic acid, peptides, polynucleotides and/or vitamins
* Results require multiple treatments for best outcomes.
Hydroneedle / AquaGold Micro-Infusion Therapy
- A luxurious evolution of microneedling using a 24-karat gold-plated device that delivers a custom serum cocktail—including hyaluronic acid, vitamins, peptides, PRP, Botox (microdose), and/or ZO Skin Health accelerated serum (~1 mm depth)
Advantages:
- Precise, comfortable, and low-downtime delivery
- Enhances skin hydration, texture, glow, and radiance
- Micro-Botox can reduce pore size and refine fine lines while maintaining muscle movement.
- Effects can last 3–4 months with visible results in as little as 3–7 days
Why Hydroneedle;
- For instant radiance, hydration, and infusion of custom serums, including micro-Botox or PRP, with no downtime.
Microneedling with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
- Combine microneedling with the healing power of your own blood.
- PRP is isolated from your blood and infused into the skin.
- Accelerates collagen production, reduces scars, wrinkles, and pigmentation.
- Anti-inflammatory properties help reduce redness and downtime.
- The PRP preparation is only as good as your blood. If you are a smoker, or have significant inflammation or metabolic imbalances the quality of the PRP may not be ideal.
Microneedling with Exosomes
- Plant‑Derived Exosomes (PDEV) are extracellular vesicles that are nano‑carriers naturally present in plants.
- When used as an add‑on during microneedling or Hydroneedle facials, they deliver antioxidant lipids, proteins, and small RNAs that help intracellular communication that help calm inflammation, decrease oxidative stress, support repair, and enhance barrier function.
Key Benefits of Microneedling with PRP or Exosomes
- Boosts collagen production for firmer skin.
- Improves texture and reduces fine lines.
- Reduces scars and acne scarring.
- Shrinks enlarged pores.
- Minimizes hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
- Enhances absorption of skincare products.
- Promotes overall radiance and skin health.
- Safe and effective all skin types and tones
